Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and an exuberant personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers straightforward, simple techniques to master for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell had a job at the top New York restaurants and studied Italian cuisine and environment. She also competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food from an early age. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a fantastic experience for me. There was no way to be able to learn, do or work enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Through her stay in Italy she was able to fully be aware of the history and principles of Italian culinary and cultural traditions that left a lasting impact on her culinary perspective. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children who are facing obstacles and is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Ambassador, where she is an advocate for youth diabetes awareness. As a keynote speaker and instructor, she travels across the U.S. to share her love for cooking and professional career. Anne stated that she felt privileged having the opportunity to impart her enthusiasm to many others.
